The Love That Ended An Empire

Anonymous asked: Hi! Love your blog, finally someone who shares the same love for this family. I'm trying to write a paper on Nicholas II, but I can't find a lot of information about his youth.. I was wondering if you may have a few suggestions on where I can find this information. Thanks!

The Last Tsar by Edvard Radzinsky and The Romanovs: Love, Power and Tragedy (various authors) are good places to start; you can probably borrow them in your local library. :)

mrsmalyrusek asked: It's amazing. So tell me, why are you interested in dynasty of Romanov? This is the first time when I meet Filipino with such interests.

I think I fell in love with Nicholas II and his family because of their amazing story, everything about their lives, as well as the events that continue to unfold after their deaths. I love the mystery that surrounded them, the beauty, the photographs, just their whole lives seem like something out of a storybook. I love that I can never stop learning about them, and that my interest in them further sparked my fascination with history and Russian culture.

mrsmalyrusek asked: I'm sorry, are you Russian?

Filipino.

flurry-blueberry asked: Have you read Nicky and Alix by Vitginia Rounding? If yes do you recommend that? Because I´m reading Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert K. Massie and I´m loving it, I just wanted to know if the other is also good so I cold buy it too.

I’ve never read it, but if I do I’ll let you know! Glad you’re enjoying Massie :)
